Historical Significance:

This beautiful historic building was designed by Hearst Castle architect Julia Morgan and constructed in 1933-1934.

The Monday Club is a non-profit civic organization with a long history of community service which includes:

  • Funding a lighted entrance to the city in 1926.
  • Scanning for enemy planes during WWII.
  • Supporting local charitable causes for women and children since 1927.
  • Organized the Friends of the Library in 1978.
  • Landscaped SLO's first park, Mitchell Park 1928.

The Monday Club currently sponsors the annual Tri-Awards scholarship program for local high school students.  Scholastic, musical and artistic accomplishments are honored through this program.
